Red, a fraud prevention and payment services provider, has announced that US debit and ATM network Pulse has deployed Red Prism real time, scoring engine as part of its debit protect fraud mitigation service upgrade.

Designed to help detect fraud rapidly, Prism software monitors PIN and signature-based debit transactions at the point-of-sale and for all ATM transactions in real time.

The application is integrated with both the scoring engine and an analysis and review system. It is designed to enable customers to review transactions that have been declined through an existing interface. Red says the software also allows clients to impose additional rules against transactions.

Eric Lillard, Pulse vice president of fraud services, said: "Aligning with Red to enhance our DebitProtect service enables our participants to respond faster to suspected fraud – detecting high-risk transactions and alerting card issuers in seconds, often before the cardholder has left the terminal."
