US-based Sun National Bank has launched SunMobile deposit, a service that allows customers to deposit cheques by taking a picture with their mobile phone.

The remote cheque deposit scheme lets customers deposit cheques into their Sun checking accounts just by sending the bank a photo of both the front and back of the cheque.

Thomas Geisel, president and CEO of Sun National Bank, said: "Sun National Bank is committed to bringing the industry’s latest technologies to our customers and to provide them with convenience, efficiency and choice when they do their banking."

"SunMobile Deposit is the latest addition to a suite of forward-thinking banking solutions that enable Sun customers to interact with us anytime, anywhere, in a secure online environment."

Customers who want to use the scheme must have the latest version of the iOS or Android app.

Sun National Bank originated in New Jersey and now serves individual customers, small businesses and commercial clients from over 60 branches across America.
