Revolut has secured provisional clearance from the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) for a national banking licence in the US.
The fintech group is still completing further regulatory steps, including processes involving the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Federal Reserve and a final sign-off from the OCC, before a proposed bank launch in 2027.

Revolut US CEO Cetin Duransoy said: “We’re grateful for the OCC’s open and transparent dialogue throughout this process. They were both diligent and expedient with our application, allowing us to remain on track for a 2027 launch of our proposed national bank.”
The planned US bank would extend Revolut’s presence in the Americas.
The company has been obtaining banking permissions and starting operations in several Latin American markets.
