Mashreq Bank has released a new version of Snapp, its mobile banking platform, which can be used by non-bank customers in the UAE.

The bank’s head of innovation, Aref Al Ramli, said the move would attract more people living in the Emirates to use mobile banking.
Since its launch in July, Ramli said Snapp had generated interest among Mashreq customers. "Snapp has seen massive growth and popularity amongst users in the last few months," he said.

The new Snapp will also be available to Windows and BlackBerry phones, in addition to its Android and iOS offering.

Novel features include an integrated GPS service which is used to send Mashreq customers tailored dining and retail offers. Non-bank customers can receive payments using the device.

Built on the Vipera Platform, the app lets account holders check account balances, pay bills, transfer money, request cheque books and statements, and activate or block debit and credit cards.

The new Snapp is integrated with the Mashreq Loyalty Program "Mashreq Salaam," which lets customers to redeem Loyalty Points at 1,500 outlets.
