French-lender BNP Paribas has used
mobile application platform
provider Mootwin’s technology for its newly released app,
EcoNews, with the aim of delivering extensive text and video
information from the lender’s economics research database to iPads,
in “easily navigable form”.

BNP Paribas has used Mootwin’s real-time push
capabilities for the EcoNews app, which also offers
notifications and configurable alerts, French and English versions
of articles, the ability to share information via email and social
media, and access to information even when the user is not
connected to the internet.

An Android version of the EcoNews app is
slated for release in August.

According to BNP Paribas’ IT and communication
manager, Michel Bernardini, EcoNews was developed as “part of a
broader effort to increase the audience for economic research
produced by BNP Paribas”.

“We are adapting to our readers’ needs and
habits, with multiple Web TV channels and a new website. The
development of iPad and Android apps is a logical next step.
EcoNews looks good, is easy to use and very functional, completely
in line with today’s trends. With Mootwin’s solution, we were able
to move from project start to completion very quickly in a couple
of months.

built-in financial-service transaction modules to develop
online-banking and stock-trading apps.
