BBVA Compass, the US subsidiary of Spain’s second-largest bank by assets, has launched a new National Basketball Association-branded (NBA) online bank account called NBA-Banking.

According to BBVA Compass, customers will be able to do almost any banking transaction online or by using the smartphone app.

BBVA Compass said customers would be able to add their favourite NBA team logo to their debit card, view game scores and headlines via the online account interface and check schedules and scores on their mobile.

BBVA Compass is promoting NBA-Banking by encouraging customers to post photos to Instagram and Twitter.

Customers will also be able to earn points that will allow them to purchase NBA merchandise by processing transactions online.

Manolo Sánchez, president and CEO of BBVA Compass, said NBA-Banking was a way of tapping into the passion customers had for sport.
