Apple Pay, currently available for in-store and in-app payments, will soon be on mobile websites as well.
The service, which lets shoppers complete purchases with their fingerprint rather than a PIN or card details, will expand to websites before the end of this year. It will be available to shoppers using the Safari browser on models of iPhones and iPads that feature Apple’s TouchID fingerprint technology.

According to rumours, Apple has also considered making the service available on Apple laptops and desktops, but it is unclear if the company will follow through with that capability.
This move puts Apple in more direct competition with PayPal, an extremely popular alternative payment option on multiple retail websites.
With regards to Apple Pay in the UK, Barclays, the only big bank still yet to support Apple Pay, has said support will launch soon. However, in a statement sent to Techradar, the bank has no plans to incorporate Android Pay.
The statement said: "At this stage, we are not planning on participating in Android Pay in the UK."
