Al Rajhi Bank, the largest bank in Saudi Arabia by branches, has launched a new online banking service.

The online banking platform was built using Backbase’s Bank 2.0 Portal technology.

Jouk Pleiter, CEO at Backbase, said: "We are delighted to see that Al Rajhi Bank has successfully gone live with Backbase Bank 2.0 Portal. From the initial conversations to the launch of the internet banking platform, it was very clear that the bank has a strong digital vision and is focused on consistently improving their online customer experience."

Pleiter added: "It’s great to see how they transformed their vision into reality."

Backbase allows the customer to tailor their banking interface to their personal needs and preferences using a widget-based layer on top of existing Al Rajhi banking systems.
