The US and the UK are set to stage out a series of cyber war attacks against each other to test their bank’s defense against online criminals.

The exercise will be launched with a staged attack targeted at the banking and finance sector, which is scheduled to take place at the end of 2015.

The Bank of England, and banks in the City and on Wall Street are expected to be the first targets of the mock war games.

The move, taken in the recent wake of the recent North Korean hack on Sony, intends to improve information flow about emerging cyber threats between the two countries.

Under the initiative, the US and UK will create a joint cyber cell which will focus on specific cyber defense topics, and share data about potential threats and other data at a greater scale that they presently do.

The team will include staffers from FBI and the National Security Agency along with their British counterparts, MI5 and Government Communications Headquarters.
