U.S. Bank has appointed Mark Jorgenson, its market president for Kansas City region, as new head of its community banking business.

Jorgenson will be based at Kansas City, responsible for leading the bank’s 1,140 branch offices and 10,000 employees in non-metropolitan communities.

As market president, Jorgenson headed commercial business banking in Kansas City and St. Louis. Tim Petty, who joined U.S. Bank in 2000, will replace Jorgenson in this role.

Petty most recently served as the senior vice president for commercial banking in Kansas City.
