US Bank, the fifth largest bank in the US by assets, has launched a credit card balance transfer feature in its mobile app, aiming to attract a younger audience.

The feature will allow customers to take advantage of credit card balance transfer offers from US Bank by taking a photo of a credit card payment coupon on their mobile and sending it to the bank to apply for a balance transfer to a credit card.

Niti Badarinath, senior vice president and head of mobile banking at US Bank said: "US Bank recognizes the power of mobile imaging and its ability to enhance our customers’ experience by giving them new and innovative ways to access and manage their banking relationship with us."

US Bank built the solution in partnership with Mitek Systems, who processes the image and obtains the information necessary for the transfer.
