Vietnamese lender TienPhong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TPBank) has opted for BPC Banking Technologies’ SmartVista to replace its existing card solution and payments systems.

The solution will improve the bank’s capabilities in all aspects of payments such as full in house processing of ATM and POS transactions as well as improved card issuing.

In addition, the move will also enhance the bank’s mobile and internet banking service capabilities.

The alliance between the two parties will enable migration of the bank’s ATM switch and cards platform to SmartVista.

Enhanced services are expected to be available in 2015, with further roll out and enhancements scheduled by early 2016.

TPBank CEO Nguyen Hung said: "We want to be seen as a technology leader taking the initiative to reach the position of the number one Digital Bank in Vietnam.

"One of the most important things in the future will be the flexibility to offer our customers what they want, when they want it and where they need it the most. Working with BPC and implementing SmartVista will enable us to stay ahead and deliver services at the speed we need to."
