Canadian lender TD Bank has revealed plans to launch a cybersecurity research office in Tel Aviv, Israel.

The bank intends to use the new office to support its development of cyber-related technical programs, research and development (R&D) and learning curriculum.

TD Bank, which is the first Canadian bank to open office in Israel, has been investing to hire technology and cyber talent to enable its staff and clients transact securely.

TD believes that the new Israel office will give it more direct line into Israel’s cyber and technology talent ecosystem.

TD Bank group head of direct channels, technology, marketing and corporate & public affairs Colleen Johnston said: “In Israel, TD will tap into one of the world’s deepest pools of talent and know-how in cybersecurity, and further strengthen our ability to build new, secure, applications as we build the bank of the future.”
