TCF National Bank has introduced a new feature that will enable its customers to lock or unlock their debit cards through mobile banking app.

Customers, who have lost or misplaced their card, can log into TCF Bank’s online banking or mobile app and select ‘My debit cards’ to change card setting to ‘Locked’ or ‘Unlocked’.

Additionally, they can also lock their cards by visiting a TCF branch or by calling its contact centre.

TCF Bank community banking director Kevin Miller said: “Our daily lives are getting busier and adding our lock and unlock feature makes it easier for customers to bank with us if they lose or misplace their debit cards.

“Customers can instantly lock their debit cards in the way that is most convenient for them, putting the control in their hands and providing greater peace of mind.”

After the debit card is locked, all transactions made at ATMs, online or in-store are blocked.

“With very little marketing, thousands of our customers are using the feature and the number continues to grow. It goes to show that our customers appreciate the added benefits of convenience and security at their fingertips.”
