British banking group Standard Chartered has named Mohamed Abdel Bary as its new CFO for Middle East and Africa (MEA).

Based in Dubai, Bary will report to regional CEO for MEA Sunil Kaushal and group deputy CFO Vivek Ahuja.

Bary joined the UK-based lender as head of business finance UAE and Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan (MENAP) four years ago, and most recently served as the bank’s head of finance for UAE.

In a career spanning over two decades, he served at various other international firms with expertise in business finance, financial and product control as well as tax management across several geographies.

 “With a presence in 25 markets and more than 14,000 staff, AME provides exciting growth potential for the Bank. I am confident Mohamed’s global experience and insights will continue to add value to our growth strategy across the region,” Kaushal said.
