France’s Societe Generale has posted a net banking income of EUR6.87bn for the second quarter of 2015, a 16.4% rise compared to EUR5.90bn in the year ago quarter.
The group’s quarterly gross operating income stood at EUR2.74bn, up 32.7% as against EUR2.07bn in the second quarter of 2014.
The group’s operating expenses during the latest quarter rose by 7.6% to EUR4.12bn from EUR3.83bn in the year ago quarter.
The bank’s French retail banking unit posted a net banking income of EUR2.15bn for the second quarter, an increase of 4.2% compared to EUR2.07bn a year ago. Gross operating income soared 6.5% to EUR849m from EUR797m in the prior year.
Meanwhile, the international retail banking & financial services arm’s net banking income dipped 1.7% to EUR1.85bn from EUR1.89bn a year earlier.
