Banco Santander has decided to hire 3,000 tech staff around the world this year to accelerate its commercial, technological and digital transformation.

The move is in line with the bank’s strategy to leverage its global network to increase its revenues and customer base.

Santander created a website called ‘Be Tech! with Santander’ to conduct and manage the recruitments for most of the roles.

Out of 3000 new hires, Santander will hire 1,000 IT professionals in Spain with a background in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

The new hires will join the technology and operations division in areas like APIs, cloud, data, network, DevSecOps, artificial intelligence (AI), software development, enterprise architecture and cybersecurity.

The new joiners will add to Santander’s global network of 195,000 employees in 10 key markets across Europe and America, serving 146 million customers.
