Santander Bank, the Boston-based unit of Spain’s Banco Santander, is shutting down all 10 of its Maryland branches.

Bank spokeswoman Nancy Orlando said that move forms part of a strategy to boost growth in the bank’s core markets.

The affected branches include the bank’s Baltimore-area branches in Bel Air and Forest Hill in Harford County and Parkton in Baltimore County, as well as other branches in Frederick, Montgomery and Washington counties.

Orlando said that the branches are scheduled to be closed in the coming several months, adding that customers can continue to bank online with Santander.
