Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), the
biggest retail bank in Canada, has become an official sponsor of
the Professional Golf Association (PGA).

The three-year deal includes sponsorship of
the PGA Championship, and the Ryder Cup, the biannual competition
between Europe and the US.

The bank also becomes the official bank of the
PGA with access to the association’s 28,000 member golf
professionals across the US.

RBC joins automaker Mercedes and credit-card
issuer American Express as the PGA’s top-tiered sponsors.

Jim Little, chief brand and communications
officer at RBC, said: “This partnership represents an exceptional
opportunity and an ideal platform to reach our target market and to
build the RBC brand in the US and internationally.”
