RBC Training Ground kicks off its fourth year with the introduction of seven new locations and a first-ever National Final.
The RBC Training Ground programme is a nationwide talent identification and athlete-funding programme. The aim is simple: find and support the next generation of Canadian Olympians.

To date, it has tested over 5,500 athletes at 71 free local events in 35 different communities across 10 provinces.
The first ever RBC Training Ground National Final will be hosted in Calgary, Alberta. This national event will bring together the top 100 high-potential athletes from across the country. Athlete will compete for funding and consideration from Canada’s National Sport Organisations.
RBC Training Ground: rewarding up to 30 athletes
Up to 30 high-performing athletes will be selected as RBC Future Olympians. In addition, they will receive funding and resources to pursue their Olympic dreams.
RBC Training Ground will also add seven new qualifier locations to the line-up. In total, the national search will visit 34 Canadian communities. Specifically, the aim is to give even more young Canadian athletes the opportunity to explore their Olympic potential.

By GlobalDataThe RBC Training Ground programme is a partnership of a number of organisations. These include the Canadian Olympic Committee, Canadian Olympic Foundation, the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute and CBC Sports.
The programme is open to Canadian athletes between the ages of 14–25.
The 2019 Training Ground season kicks off on 3 February.
