Royal Bank of Canada has launched voice biometrics technology that can identify clients who phone the bank’s call centres within seconds.
The new RBC Secure Voice technology eliminates the requirement of passwords/PINs or responding to a standard series of authentication questions.

Moreover, unlike other voice biometrics systems that require customers to memorise and repeat a specific phrase, the technology captures voiceprints in real-time.
The launch of RBC Secure Voice follows the recent completion of a successful pilot, with the complete rollout of the technology scheduled to be implemented over the next few months in a phased manner.
RBC vice-president of business enablement Claude DeMone said: "With RBC Secure Voice, our advisors can begin assisting our clients right away – an added convenience our clients are already telling us that they really appreciate.
