Oracle has integrated its banking software suite to Swift’s distributed ledger network, allowing commercial lenders to route tokenised deposit transactions across institutions.

The arrangement enables financial organisations to run both conventional payment channels and digital asset transactions through a consolidated operating structure.

Within this network, the Swift ledger serves as an interbank coordination mechanism, connecting individual lenders’ internal records to wider cross-border settlement channels.

The system is designed to support international clearing, programmable transactions, and ledger visibility alongside established financial regulatory and security requirements.

Technical deployment relies on the Oracle Blockchain Platform and Oracle Digital Assets Data Nexus.

These products execute Swift commitment contracts, handle event messaging, and supply Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible blockchain architecture, alongside cryptographic signing, custodial wallet tools, and smart contract functionality.

The deployment represents an extension of cooperation between the two firms, following Oracle obtaining Swift Compatible Application status for payments earlier in 2026.

Oracle Financial Services application software engineering, payments and financial crime management vice president Jamie Bullard said: “Our integration with Swift’s ledger helps institutions bring tokenised deposits into cross-bank payment flows and manage traditional and tokenised payments through a unified operating model.

“This can help banks innovate faster and meet customers’ rising expectations for transparent, always-on payment services while supporting governance and compliance efforts.”

Meanwhile, last year, Oracle introduced new cloud services aimed at assisting retail financial institutions in modernising their lending and collections processes.

The Oracle Banking Retail Lending Servicing Cloud Service and Oracle Banking Collections Cloud Service are designed to enhance operational efficiency and risk management for financial organisations.
