Singapore’s OCBC Bank has integrated Apple’s virtual assistant Siri into its mobile banking app, allowing its business customers to make payments with voice commands.

From 9 October 2017, the bank’s business clinets will be be able to conduct transactions using Siri. They just have to specifying recipient’s name and the amount they want to send. They can also check their account balance.

Payments on Siri will be authenticated through OCBC One Touch fingerprint authentication and One Time Passwords sent through SMS. The Siri feature will be available only to customers having iPhones with Apple’s iOS 11 operating system.

OCBC head of global commercial banking Linus Goh said: “We are pleased to be leading the charge in Asia in introducing voice banking to our business customers.

SME business owners are time-starved and constantly on the go, and we believe these innovative solutions based on voice recognition technology will vastly improve the way in which our customers manage their everyday business banking needs.”

Several major banks including Barclays and RBC have previously integrated Siri into their mobile banking apps.
