UAE-based lender Mashreq Bank has selected a range of technologies from American software firm NCR to speed up transaction processing for customers.

The bank has chosen the technology provider’s tablet based Interactive Banker, which uses real-time customer information to offer improved customer service.

The bank also opted for NCR’s Interactive Teller technology that helps a live teller to remotely control an ATM to help customers conduct various types of transactions in a branch including intelligent cash and cheque deposit, bill pay, new account opening and loan initiation.

The bank will also install the vendor’s self-service financial kiosk to allow customers carry out teller transactions on their own.

The implementation of the technologies will be done over the next six months.

Mashreq Bank head of operations and technology Sandeep Chauhan said: “The efficiency and secure transactions led by centralization of tellers coupled with the integration of NCR Interactive Services allows us to transform our customer interaction model.”
