Toronto fintech hub MaRS Discovery District has joined forces with Canadian direct bank Tangerine and technology and applications platform Envestnet | Yodlee to facilitate innovation in the field of financial technology.

The partnership will see Tangerine joining the MaRS FinTech cluster to connect with fintech startups with a focus on big data, loyalty and mobile payments.

Selected MaRS fintech startups will be able to secure resources required to support their innovations and gain access to The Envestnet | Yodlee financial data platform through Ynext.

Commenting on the partnership, MaRS FinTech head Adam Nanjee said: "As part of MaRS FinTech, Tangerine and Envestnet | Yodlee will join MaRS’ growing community of financial technology companies and entrepreneurs to help drive innovation in Canada for the next generation of consumers in the financial services sector."

Tangerine chief information officer Charaka Kithulegoda added: "Tangerine is thrilled to be partnering with MaRS and its network of high impact fintech startups.
