Indian private sector lender ICICI Bank is set to bolster its footprint in China by opening a new branch in Shanghai.

The bank, which has a representative office in China, has already secured the regulatory approvals to open its first Shanghai branch.

It launched its representative office in Shanghai in 2003.

The lender also has subsidiaries in the UK and Canada, branches in the US, Singapore, Bahrain, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Qatar and Dubai International Finance Centre. It has representative offices in the UAE, China, South Africa, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Indonesia.
