HSBC UK has ventured into open banking by launching a new platform that will enable customers to view all of their bank accounts in one place, irrespective of who they bank with.

The platform is now in its beta stage and complete version will be available next year. In the full fledged version, customers can add their current accounts, loans, mortgages as well.

The beta app will initially be available for 10000 HSBC customers in UK staring October this year.

The app will enable users to add accounts from up to 21 different banks, including Barclays, Lloyds and Bank of America.

HSBC head of digital division in UK and Europe Raman Bhatia said: “These features were developed to answer specific customer needs, such as joined-up banking, and allows us to examine behaviour in early demos before launching a brand new app to customers early next year.”
