The Turkish unit of HSBC has said that cyber criminals have stolen the credit card information of its 2.7 million customers in the country.
The bank said that additional security measures have been put in place to monitor transactions.
In a message to customers on its website, the bank said that there is no evidence that any of our customers’ other financial information or personal information was compromised.
"There is no financial risk to our customers and there has been no evidence of any fraud or other suspicious activity arising from this incident. Our customers may continue to perform all banking transactions with HSBC as usual," the bank said.
HSBC Turkey said it has launched an investigation into the matter in conjunction with the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency of Turkey (BRSA).
