Raisin, a pan-European deposits marketplace, has forged a partnership with Italian lender Banca Sella to offer savings products to the latter’s customers.

This is the first time Banca Sella customers will gain access to third-party saving products in Italy.

The Raisin-Banca Sella integration will allow the customers to invest in select external deposit products at other banks in Italy, and across Europe.

For Raisin, the partnership allows entry into the Italian savings market. Raisin offers savings products to depositors across Europe, from banks in 25 countries.

Raisin Italy country manager Federico Franz said: “Raisin’s integration with Banca Sella is an important step for us into the Italian savings market, bringing to customers in Italy the convenience and choice of a marketplace.

“Banca Sella’s forward-looking approach to technology and digital banking has provided Raisin with an excellent entry point into one of Europe’s largest economies.”

Raisin co-founder and CEO Tamaz Georgadze added: “Our partnership with Banca Sella enables Raisin to take an important step toward our vision, as Raisin products are now available on a localised platform to savers in all of Europe’s largest economies.”

Founded in 1886, Banca Sella is a privately-owned, independent bank, and the first to launch an open banking platform in Italy.

The integration of Raisin’s digital products into Banca Sella’s online banking platform is currently launched as a pilot programme.

In the coming months, it will be rolled to all the retail banking customers of Banca Sella.

Banca Sella head of retail business Luca Ferrarese said: “Banca Sella immediately understood the importance of seizing the opportunities that open banking offers.

“This is how we make innovative and cutting-edge solutions available to our customers, in line with their needs, and it has put the bank on a continuous path of digital transformation.

“Partnering with Raisin, one of the most established fintech companies in Europe, represents a further element of this strategy that sees banks and fintechs working together to offer completely new, effective and efficient solutions.”
