Forcht Bank, a Kentucky-based community focused lender, has partnered with the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to participate in the Cyber Apex Review Team (CART) programme.

The DHS programme seeks to work directly with regional and national financial organisations to identify and analyse cyber threats and concerns.

Commenting on the collaboration, Forcht Bank executive vice president Chip Clements said: “Cyber threats against internal systems and data integrity are becoming one of the primary concerns facing the financial industry today.

“We’re honoured to work with the Department of Homeland Security on finding ways to identify and mitigate cyber threats. This partnership will allow Forcht Bank to be on the cutting edge of cyber security – which ultimately protects our clients’ personal and financial data.”

As soon as cyber threats are recognised through the CART programme, the DHS will work to find solutions to alleviate the threat.

The DHS will further decide whether the solution can be rolled out to all financial institutions and organisations.
