Over recent years, the institution has revised internal procedures and introduced agentic AI across multiple business segments.

The deployment of AI software has taken over tasks previously handled by personnel, accelerating workflows and expanding operational capacity.

Specific functions already altered by the technology include customer data oversight, Know Your Customer compliance verifications, software development, and programming.

Adjusting the division’s structure and personnel capabilities to align with these automated processes has led to the planned reduction in headcount.

DNB stated that the staff reductions will adhere to statutory employment laws and will be conducted through consultations with workplace union representatives.

The associated restructuring expenses are scheduled to be booked in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the resulting financial effects will be fully visible in company reporting from the second quarter of 2027.

DNB Group CEO Kjerstin Braathen said: “AI is changing the way we work and how we deliver services to our customers. We are already seeing considerable gains, and are therefore adapting our organisation to a new reality. At the same time, we know that this restructuring will affect employees who have made a strong contribution to DNB for many years. This is why it is important for us to carry out an orderly and responsible process, and take care of the employees affected in the best possible way,”

Last year, DNB broadened its vendor arrangement with IT supplier Infosys to support its digitisation programme.
