The two groups aim is to make it easier for businesses to receive, transfer and administer funds across different markets.

They also plan to examine the joint development of agentic AI tools for DBS customers, with the objective of improving transaction efficiency and security.

As part of the agreement, Stripe will use DBS’ digital banking services to strengthen cross-border payment functions for merchants on its platform.

Stripe chief business officer Fran Ryan said: “Ten years ago, Stripe launched in Singapore to support Asia’s earliest internet builders. Today, more than half of our users in the region are selling cross border. By combining Stripe’s global financial infrastructure and product innovation with DBS’ trusted banking expertise and extensive regional network, we look forward to helping even more businesses in Asia transform into global champions.”

This will involve DBS’ money movement and cash management services to support payment collection and to help Stripe manage liquidity and cash positions across its corporate entities.

DBS, for its part, will assess how Stripe’s global platform and embedded finance services could be used to widen the bank’s cross-border reach, allowing its institutional clients to connect with more customers internationally.

DBS CEO Tan Su Shan said: “Asia’s digital economy is entering a new phase of innovation and growth. AI agents are gaining traction and businesses of all sizes are broadening their reach into new markets around the world. This partnership enables us to continue delivering differentiated solutions for customers and reflects our shared commitment towards helping businesses in Asia build, scale and compete globally.”

The latest move builds on DBS’ memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore (IBF) to “uplift, upskill and upbuild” financial sector talent pipeline in the Singapore for an AI-driven future.
