Swiss cantonal bank Berner Kantonalbank (BEKB) has selected KOBIL’s mIDentity Protection Platform to secure its mobile banking.

The mIDentity platform is a software-based and mobile multifactor authentication that helps log in to mobile banking.

The platform includes the Trusted Login feature that has been designed to help identify and log in authorised subscribers to a service or network through multifactor authentication.

It also includes the Trusted Message Sign feature that enables transactions and other confidential data to be signed off via mobile.

The back-end Smart Security Messaging Server checks whether it is the right app, the corresponding mobile end device activated for it and the correct user identity.

KOBIL said that the mIDentity platform could also help BEKB realise further digital banking services such as binding call centre processes, customer communications or real-time customer interaction. It could allow the bank to sign contracts online, and develop entire digital ecosystems for which the customer has to log in securely once.
