BEIGE Capital Savings and Loans (BCSL) has obtained the final nod from Ghana’s central bank to operate as a universal bank.

The new bank, named The BEIGE Bank, comprises over 70 offices across the country. The bank employs 2,000 staff and has around 700,000 clients comprising individual and SMEs.

The rebranding of all BCSL offices will be done before the end of the year.

The BEIGE Bank board chairman Kofi Otutu Adu Labi said: “We have come this far through the hard work and dedication of our staff and the loyalty of our customers. We are emboldened to help our customers to grow with us, from small beginnings. We are a homegrown bank determined to make a difference in financial intermediation in Ghana.”

BEIGE CEO Mike Nyinaku added: Our competencies are in the SME space and that’s where we would play for now.”
