Barclaycard, the credit card division of the
UK’s second largest bank Barclays, has entered into talks with
Firstsource to take over its customer service centre. 
 

The details of the partnership with the Indian
provider of outsourcing services centre on the bank’s ongoing drive
to boost efficiency and service to customers. 

The majority of services provided by the
Barclaycard in the UK will be offered by Firstsource if an
agreement is reached.  

“We’ll be spending the next few months talking
to Firstsource to see if we can form a partnership which will be
right for our colleagues, right for our customers and right for
Barclaycard,” said Derek Allgood, global sales and service director
at Barclaycard.

Barclaycard’s acquiring arm looks after about 87,000 merchants
worldwide and has already worked with Firstsource in the US for
more than two years.
