Bank of Scotland is planning to close 13 of its branches across Scotland by 18 September 2015.

The move, which follows a similar announcement by the Royal Bank of Scotland, will see the closure of four branches in Glasgow, seven in Edinburgh and one in Aberdeen.

The closures will not result in any job-cut, confirmed the bank.

On 12 May 2015, Bank of Scotland has closed its branch in Burghead, Moray, which has been replaced with a mobile branch service.

A bank spokesperson said: "Our focus has been on urban areas where there is another Bank of Scotland branch in close proximity in order to minimise the disruption to customers. Branches continue to play an important role for Bank of Scotland and we apologise to customers for any inconvenience this may cause."
