Bank of America (BofA) has experienced a major online glitch resulting in accounts displaying inaccurate balance amount and in few cases as low as $0.

Many online and mobile banking customers have reached out to the bank directly or through social media channels like Twitter to express their concerns.

BofA confirmed that the account balances displaying $0 is in fact an online glitch and reassured that the customers’ account information has not been impacted.

In a written statement, BofA said: “Some of our clients may currently see an inaccurate account balance in online or mobile banking.

“There is no impact on their accounts and their information remains secure. We are working to address it as quickly as possible.”

The lender has suggested the impacted clients to use other online ways to view their accurate account balances.

BofA added: “Clients can still view their current account balances by clicking the ‘individual account view’ or contact us (either via social or other means).”

There is no information regarding how many clients have been impacted by this glitch.

Furthermore, few customers also said they are unable to access their money and unable to transfer their funds from savings to checking accounts.

BofA on Wednesday claimed that it has fixed the temporary display issue.

In an email response, BofA spokesperson Mark Pipitone said: “The issue is fixed and account balances are restored.”
