Israeli lender Bank Leumi has reported an attributable profit of NIS2.83bn ($727.8m) for 2015, a 100.6% increase compared to NIS1.41bn ($362.8m) in the prior year.

The bank’s pre-tax profit for the period stood at NIS4.38bn, a rise of 64.6% from NIS2.66bn a year ago.

For the year ended 31 December 2015, the bank’s net interest income dropped 3.3% to NIS7.12bn from NIS7.36bn a year earlier.

Non-interest income surged 22.5% to NIS6.29bn in 2015 from NIS5.14bn in 2015. Operating and other expenses fell 5.7% year-on-year to NIS8.83bn from NIS9.37bn.
