Bangladesh-based Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) has entered into online banking business to meet the needs of growing demands from customers.

The switch to electronic banking will enable RAKUB to improve its services provided to the clients in general.

RAKUB managing director, Mofazzal Hossain, urged the branch managers and zonal managers to soon introduce computerisation systems.

Hossain said they have no way but to enter into the online banking era in order to sustain in the modern and competitive banking system.

The plan calls for all its 374 branches to be computerised in phases by June 2014 and familiarise their clients with the modern system.

Hossain said the effort will supplement the government’s endeavour to build digital Bangladesh and to bring public services at people’s doorsteps by 2021.
