Banking software provider Backbase has joined forces with financial services consulting services company Synpulse to help banks in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region expedite their digital transformation efforts.
This collaboration offers strategy consulting, customised platform solutions, and localised implementation services for banks.
The focus is on enhancing customer acquisition, growing share of wallet, and lowering operational expenses.
The partnership integrates Backbase’s engagement banking platform with Synpulse’s regional expertise, enabling financial institutions to shift to “customer-centricity”.
“On-ground teams” will provide insights unique to the market, “cultural fluency”, as well as technical implementation, to meet banking requirements across retail, SME, and wealth management.
Backbase ASEAN & South Asia vice president Riddhi Dutta said: “This partnership strengthens our ecosystem and ensures banks have both the architecture and specialised expertise needed to accelerate their digital transformation. Synpulse’s proven financial services expertise and understanding of regional markets make them an ideal partner to help banks deliver exceptional customer experiences across all touchpoints.”
Synpulse partner Yash Shah stated: “Our combined strengths will enable banks to unlock new growth opportunities and achieve digital transformation goals more effectively. Together, we provide financial institutions with the guidance and implementation capabilities needed to execute large-scale transformations with confidence.”
Backbase claims that its platform allows banks to unify business lines and “modernise” aligning with customer preferences, without the need for vendor lock-in.
The platform is used by over 150 financial institutions worldwide, including APAC outfits like BDO Unibank (Philippines), HDFC Bank (India), and Techcombank (Vietnam).
Backbase also looks to establish a presence in Hong Kong within this year. Last month, the company partnered with Siili Solutions, for speeding up banking innovation in the Nordics.
