ANZ Bank NZ is rolling out its own digital wallet that will allow customers to make contactless payments through their Android smartphones.

The new goMoney Wallet is integrated within the bank’s existing mobile banking app, ANZ goMoney, allowing payments to be made in a similar way as the bank’s existing contactless payment cards.

For purchases below NZD80, goMoney Wallet customers can tap and go for making payments, while purchases above NZD80 require customers to enter a PIN.

The wallet would support ANZ Visa debit as well as personal Visa credit cards.

In addition, the new wallet will incorporate the cloud-based Host Card Emulation (HCE) technology to protect financial information of customers. Also, on losing the phone, ANZ can remotely switch off the goMoney Wallet service.
