Antwerp Diamond Bank (ADB) is eyeing sale of its India operations and is looking for a buyer.

The lender, owned by Brussels-based KBC Group, comprises a sole branch in Mumbai with a workforce of 33. The bank began operations in the country in 2001.

It said in last September that it would wind down its loan portfolio and activities across the world, including India.

KBC decided to sell ADB after it failed to sell it to the Yinren Group based in Shanghai.

In a release issued last September, ADB said: "Given that the sale of ADB to the Yinren Group could not be successfully completed, KBC has decided, in implementation of the agreement made with the European Commission, to run down the loan portfolio and activities of ADB in a gradual and orderly manner."
