Ameris Bancorp, the parent of Ameris Bank, has completed its acquisition of Jacksonville Bancorp, the parent of The Jacksonville Bank, Jacksonville, Florida.

Following the completion of acquisition, Jacksonville Bancorp merged with and into Ameris Bancorp, while The Jacksonville Bank merged with and into Ameris Bank.

The transition of The Jacksonville Bank operating systems, accounts, services and signage to Ameris Bank will be concluded in May 2016, until which The Jacksonville Bank will operate as a division of Ameris Bank.

The transaction, worth about $96.6m, was announced in October 2015.

Ameris said at the time that the merged entity would manage about $5.7bn in assets, $4bn in loans, $4.9bn in deposits, and operate with 101 banking locations across four states.

Currently, Jacksonville Bancorp operates from eight banking locations.
