Poland-headquartered Alior Bank has kicked off its Romanian digital banking offering in partnership with Deutsche Telekom subsidiary Telekom Romania.

Dubbed Telekom Banking, Romanian customers can open current accounts denominated in Euros, US Dollars, UK Sterling as well as the Romanian Leu.

New customers can apply online, via the Telekom Banking app or at Telekom Romania’s physical outlets.

Alior and Telekom Romania agreed a joint venture in 2015 to offer joint products and services to Romanian customers. The bank is aiming to build on the success of its telco agreement in its domestic market with T Mobile.

Telekom Romania ranks second by market share in the country with over 5 million customers.

Future Telekom Banking product plans include unsecured personal loans and overdrafts.
