Dutch banking major ABN Amro has teamed up with the Dutch authorities and 11 private parties to fight helpdesk scams.

Private parties involved in this public-private partnership are Microsoft, Teamviewer, KPN, VodafoneZiggo, Western Union, MoneyGram International, ING, Rabobank, De Volksbank en Dutch bitcoin company association Verenigde Bitcoinbedrijven Nederland.

Public parties such as the Netherlands Public Prosecution Service, the National Police and the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets are also part of the agreement.

ABN Amro head of crime prevention Emiel den Boer said: “For us, this declaration of intent logically follows from our other partnerships to combat cybercrime and fraud.
