The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 28.5% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021. IT jobs claimed a 36.54% share in the company’s total hiring activity in December 2021, and recorded a 6.88% decline over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Visa, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 72.51% in December 2021, and a 6.59% rise over November 2021, while Computer and Information Analysts claimed a share of 9.57% in December 2021, and registered a decline of 26.56%. Computer Support Specialists held a share of 6.72% in December 2021, a 6.45% rise from November 2021.

North America emerged as the leading region in the global banking and payments IT hiring activity in December 2021 with a 71.49% share, which marked a 1.13% drop over the previous month. Asia-Pacific stood next with 19.14%, registering a 27.03% month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with an 8.76% share and a 10.26% rise over November 2021. In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 0.41% and a month-on-month flat growth. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.2%, registering a flat growth over the previous month. The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 71.28% share in December 2021, a 1.13% decline over November 2021. Singapore featured next with a 12.22% share, up 42.86% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 5.5% share, a decline of 10% compared with November 2021.
