The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.52% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

Out of the banking and payments industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 18.79% share in November 2021, recording a decrease of 0.17% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 61.46% in November 2021, registering a 7.72% decline over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 19.24% share, a decrease of 4.72% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 9.97%, registering an 18.65% decline from October 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 5.14%, up 52.83% over the previous month.

Top five banking and payments companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 2.28% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s banking and payments industry during November 2021 over October 2021.

Citigroup posted 183 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a rise of 61.95% over the previous month, followed by JPMorgan Chase with 181 jobs and a 311.36% growth. Barclays with 177 IT jobs and Nationwide Building Society with 97 jobs, recorded a 58.84% decline and a 46.97% flat growth, respectively, while NatWest Group recorded a decline of 2.08% with 47 job postings during November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.7%, down by 7.84% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 19.94% share, registered a decline of 7.65% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.16% share, down 27.07% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 5.21%, recording a month-on-month increase of 51.85%.
