Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 62.93% in September 2021, a 2.16% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 16.92% in September 2021, marking an 11.88% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 10.84% in September 2021, a 7.55% rise from August 2021.

Top five banking and payments companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 39.23% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s banking and payments industry during September 2021 over previous month.
Banco Santander posted 115 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 35.29% over the previous month, followed by Citigroup with 60 jobs and a 6.25% drop. Banco de Credito e Inversiones with 58 IT jobs and Banco BTG Pactual with 30 jobs, recorded a 56.76% rise and a 76.47% rise, respectively, while PayPal Holdings recorded a 366.67% increase with 28 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s banking and payments industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 37.83% share in September 2021, an 11.17% increase over August 2021. Peru featured next with a 14.64% share, down 19.79% over the previous month. Chile recorded a 13.69% share, a growth of 41.18% compared with August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.33%, down by 1.26% from August 2021. Senior positions with a 10.08% share, registered a decline of 3.64% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 9.13% share, down 20% over August 2021, while Entry Level postings accounted for 6.46%, recording a month-on-month growth of 36%.
