Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 54.74% in November 2021, a 12.79% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 20.99% in November 2021, marking a 37.16% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 13.5% in November 2021, an 11.9% drop from October 2021.

Top five banking and payments companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 19.5% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s banking and payments industry during November 2021 over previous month.
Banco Santander posted 126 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a decline of 42.73% over the previous month, followed by Banco de Credito e Inversiones with 100 jobs and a 16.67% drop. Citigroup with 85 IT jobs and B3 with 30 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 172.73% rise, respectively, while Bancolombia recorded an 180% increase with 14 job postings during November 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s banking and payments industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 45.62% share in November 2021, a 19.61% decrease over October 2021. Chile featured next with a 22.08% share, down 17.69% over the previous month. Peru recorded an 8.94% share, a drop of 7.55% compared with October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.99%, down by 23.12% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.06% share, registered a decline of 2.22% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.48% share, up 57.69% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 5.47%, recording a month-on-month decline of 21.05%.
