Poland’s banking and payments industry registered a 5.2% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 2.94% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the banking and payments industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 21.16% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 0.72% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 54.3% in September 2021, registering a 22.67% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.94% share, an increase of 4.76% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 14.89%, registering a 23.18% decline from August 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.76%, down 2.56% over the previous month.

Top five banking and payments companies in Poland’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 18.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Poland’s banking and payments industry during September 2021 over August 2021.

Banco Santander posted 348 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a drop of 13% over the previous month, followed by Citigroup with 74 jobs and a 39.34% drop. UBS Group with 63 IT jobs and Credit Suisse Group with 49 jobs, recorded a 1.61% flat growth and an 8.89% flat growth, respectively, while ING Group recorded a decline of 45.57% with 43 job postings during September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.95%, down by 17.67% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 10.78% share, registered a decline of 8.7% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.88% share, down 15.38% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.39%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
